Grandmaster Bong Yul Shin (Master Shin) is a ground-breaking expert in fitness training, martial arts instruction, and teaching people of all ages, shapes, sizes the best ways to workout at home through his workout series.
Born in South Korea, he moved to the United States in 1962 and became one of the strongest proponents of that discipline. Mr. Shin’s training began when he studied judo as a child. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yong In University, the only Martial Arts University in the world, and later earned his Master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Vermont.
At the age of 62, he became the youngest person ever promoted and certified as a 9th degree Grandmaster in Judo. Mr. Shin also opened the highly respected Moo Do Kwan School of Martial Arts in St. Louis, Missouri, where his instruction continues. Mr. Shin’s Moo Do Kwan schools are also located in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Texas and Missouri.

The “Don’t Cheat Yourself” program is Mr. Shin’s latest effort to teach all types of people the best and proper ways to workout at home.
